R&D 231 Assignment - Cropping
This is an area that seems to be neglected by a bunch of us.
Take a look in Antoine's and Doug Pexa's
folders in the photos files.

You will see they do very creative cropping and or
interesting placement of the figure on the page.
It seems that some of the most effective and beautiful
work, in my judgement, is usually cropped very
creatively or placed in the page frame interestingly -
or both.
Personally I have an inclination to always include the
whole figure in my work. I seem to forget when I start
a piece that I wanted to attempt some cropping.
So for this assignment there are two poses to choose
from. Draw one or both using an interesting crop and
or an unusual page placement that creates an
interesting composition with the pose. You could use
the figures individually or combined.
Use the drawing or painting medium of your choice and
it can be color or black and white.
Put your finished assignment in Photos>A0 Assignment R&D 231.
The poses for the assignment can be found in this
folder and also in the Files>assignment (of the group)>R&D>R&D
231.
Let's try to have this assignment done by January 10,
2008. That should get us through the holidays and
still give everyone enough time to do some creative
cropping.
Let's also help each other learn by DOING A CRITIQUE
or two.
I hope the artists whose work I referred you to get
your creative juices flowing.
