Happy, happy to you all.
In the hopes that some of us will have a little down time between the big days here is a project to work on.
The deadline is January 1st 2006 - so there is no hurry it is not due until next year. :-)
For this project I have selected one of ronnie's seated poses on the floor. Mostly because there is a wonder sense of the light falling in on him from the window.... and that is what i think we should concentrate on...
In this drawing I want you to only draw the light.... observe how it falls on the figure and how it washes over it and falls off. Draw only the areas where the light from the window is falling on the figure and the places where light is being reflected on to the figure. Do not concern yourself with the light that is in the room.... only the light from the window.
Squint down and really try and concentrate on the shape of the light areas and how they connect to each other... rather than trying to draw the figure....
I might suggest that you work on a tinted paper on this one, or if you only have white you may want to sand a piece of charcoal down over your paper and spread that around then use a kneaded eraser to pull out the light.
