Hi all!
As a bit of introduction and excuse if you will, I seem to have found myself in a curious situation which in and of itself is not really that bad, it is simply frustrating as can be. I feel like a kid with his broken leg in a cast, sitting on the deck of the pool on a hot sunny day watching all the other kids splashing about in the water having a great time, but i am relagated to sitting and watching... longing to dive in.
No, I don't have any broken limbs, I just have broken scheduling... I have been watching and I am seeing some wonderful things happen. I want to tell you, as frustrating as it is not be able to join in as I would like, it is great to see what is developing.
And as i watch that, I see that it is time for another project. (check in the R&D folder and you will find R&D 211)
In talking to some of you off the group I was impressed that we need to do something with an R&D assignment that pushes us out of our comfort zone a little. And nothing does that better than a little foreshortening. As I scanned the pool of poses, this pose by Ray seemed to fit the bill. Typically when we think of a pose that is ideal for foreshortening, we think of a pose that is a bit more stretched out. But I think as you look at this pose you will find it quite a challenge.
Look carefully where everything lies. Notice if there needs to be any adjustment in proportions so that it is obvious that his trunk and head is really further away than his feet.
I hope you have a good time with this study. Feel free to render it in whatever medium you feel most comfortable.
As always I like to express my deepest appreciation to our member models who do such a wonderful job with the poses they create. The pose choosen for this project is yet another fine addition by Ray. Once again Ray you have done an excellent job of setting this pose up. Keep up the good work.
now.... LET'S DRAW!
