Life 113 Project
Well, seeing in the grand scheme of things that we all have our own points of view on a wide verity of topics and matters that are close and dear to our hearts, I thought this Life Drawing Project should deal with the subject of “point of view”. This is going to be a hard project since we will not be using our own point of view but the a point of view outside of our selves.
The Basics:
Any medium, any style, any size, can even move into the realm of abstraction, emotion and avant garde art. I would encourage to do some experimentation with this one do to its nature. This will be a self portrait / self figurative work (clothed or not).
The Concept:
Look outside of yourself, at yourself. how does the outside view you as an artist and as a human as a still life as a ________(you fill in the blank). the point of view could be as simple as bird’s eye/mouse’s eye view, your life partner’s view, children’s view (yours or others), the parents’, the news, the pope, an academic class’s view, the collective conscience, a chair, the art work it’s self, or anything else you can think of. There is a ton of room for creativity and passion in this piece and very well get you to think a lot about yourself and your art.
Suggestion:
Brain storming with your sketchbook will be helpful, write ideas down and do small thumbnail sketches will help in the development of your ideas, also doing some mock ups in the sketch book my help you with your composition. not all will want to do this but this will help a lot of you get the idea going.
Goal:
to create a finished piece of art that conveys an idea/emotion beyond that of just a drawing of something (here it being you), and remember the concept does not have to be obvious to the view, but they should get some personal feeling from it.
this will be due may 15th
now lets Draw! (or make some art!!!)
