With the new year upon us, I want us to reflect a little.
This life project will be a self portrait, yes i know, another self portrait, however we are doing the self portraits as a gauge to follow the development of our artistic ability. There are also a ton of new members that we have not seen their faces yet! Van Gogh and Rembrandt van Rjin were both did prolific self portraits!
You can use any media, and work in your style. The twist is to use this concept as your starting point:
"self – transformation from the old to the new year"
Think about this to add to the work of art, create something that has this feeling, mind you it dose not need to be obvious to anyone but you as the artist, in other words it dose not need to be illustrative.
Make study sketches, write some words in a journal and/or talk with family, friends and other fdf members about your ideas before you start may be helpful. Remember, art is not just about the finished work, it is the process and the concepts that make art great!
I hope this will be challenging for all of you!
