I thought that would get your attention.
I have been saying I was going to be starting some other projects, and well as life is; One thing has lead to another and a whole week has gone by and i am just not getting around to posting this bugger.
Actually this one is right on schedule, I had planned to start this one at the beginning of May and so this one is right on. The one I was going to post last Monday will have to continue to be late. At this point we may wait till a week after the present Fabrication is complete.
So what's up you wonder? This is going to be a month long project and we are calling this series of projects, "Life". This will be a series of assignments that will allow you to explore some new ground. and kind of go wild if you will.
Life projects are going to be done out side of the group. That is that you will not be using photos of the member models. In fact you will not be using any photographic reference. As the title denotes, these will be done from life.
Assignments will vary from drawings of specific body parts, to who knows what. You will need to either draw from your own body or ask friends or family members to pose for you.
Regularly the assignment will be to create a self-portrait. And that is exactly what the first assignment is.
You will have one month to work this out, so put some effort in not only how you will execute the piece, but think of how to best represent yourself. Think about the pose, maybe you want to include props. There are really no wrong answers here.
This Life assigment will be due June 2nd (2003).
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Ask off-list if you feel like it, but i think it will be thrilling to see a folder full of self-portraits.
