HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 2007 is finally here... for some reason for me it still
seems
like anything beyond 1999 is in the future... is as surreal as it sounds with
each
year further in to this new century that we go i just feel like we are just
a little further
into the future.. it is crazy not to feel like i am in the present any more..
well, i won't go on any
more on this line of thought... i don't want to freak anyone out at the moment...
it is just
one of those things that crosses my mind at new years... at least during the
last few of them
any way...
since it is a new year, let's try some thing a little different... i don't
want
to start up a new catagory of project, and as i think about this new direction
(if it really is a
new direction) i think that it really does fit perfectly into the Realm of our
Fabrication
projects... this new idea is going to open things up a bit... it is going to
give the artists a lot
more latitude... and since i am not going to pick a specific model that you
must work from it
will give our wonderful models the extra needed exposure that they need.
my idea is this, and it is not entirely my idea i should say, Ronnie has banntied
it about some here on the group and he and have discussed it in some length...
so some of the credit (or blame, hehehehe) needs to go to dear Ronnie. but,
the idea is this, each Fab project , you will be presented with a concept or
a theme... and it up to you to
interpret how you want to present it... it is also up to you to pick which model
or models
you will use to work from... there will me no real limitation on your model
choices, if
you feel you need multiple models or poses, then you can include them in your
work.
so, for the first one of '007 i am going to propose the theme of Flight.
on new year's eve i looked out my kitchen window at the gray winter haze over
the bay... in some way the dreariness was delightful, and then i saw what almost
looked to
me to be phosphoresent plankton in the air... there were hundreds of white specs
flying
in all diretions, spiralling up and then down to the water... i really thought
my eyes
were playing trick on me... especially when i could not get my wife or my kids
to see them...
once they were nearly dispersed they all finally saw them... which was good
for me, since
i didn't want to think that i had TOTALLY lost it. (what a way to end a year,
loosing it
like that) Well, it turned out that they were in fact seagulls. i don't know
what they were
doing, but it looked really fun. so that is where i got the idea for Flight.
But you take Flight wherever you want it to go... we all have had different
experiences with it, either in real life or in dreams so take this opportunity
to let your
imagination take wing.
i hope this new idea for Fab Projects is fun for you all... i am looking forward
to it... we will still have the other ones too, but lets get the year started
off here with
FAB035 Flight. the deadline for this one will be. January 22nd.
now, LETS DRAW!!!
