Happy Happy to everyone!!!
First off welcome to all the newcomers... seems a we have a few on board that this may be their first real project... but really welcome I am so glad to have you all here.
Next I want to thank Arminda for this pose... (she has many that you all should go and check out in her folder). Arminda did a careful job of outlining this pose so as to cut out any of the distractions of the background for us.. in the process she created an overly heavy edge to the figure. And that harsh outline is what inspired this particular assignment.
As you know there are no lines in nature... there are edges... few as hard as what we see in this photo... what our task is going to be is to play hide and seek if you will with edges of this pose. You are going to have to make some excutive decisions here... don't be afraid to use your artistic license either.
So, here we go. Do a painting or a drawing of this pose... you choose the medium, but if you do a drawing don't do a line drawing... remember there are no lines.... so you are going to have to figure this out.
You might consider letting some of the figure disappear or fade into the background... but whatever you do try and make the edge around the figure look as natural as possible.
any questions?
this one is due on 12.18.05 so you will have plenty of time to do this and then do your Christmas shopping.
take care. now. LET'S DRAW!!
