Fabrication 025

Well you have had a little break... so enough is enough. FAB 025....(can you believe we are 25?) (I can't)

For this one I have choosen a pose created by Ray. Thanks Ray very nice, as well as are many of the others in this particular series.

This assignment came to during a conversation I was having with Darkling026, she showed me a piece she had done and it reminded that I was once again a little late with a FAB assignment. What she showed me was a tinted line drawing. Now, I have long loved the idea of paintings that allowed the lines from the original drawing to show through. Perhaps it was the transparent watercolor class I took in art school. We were taught that those lines were all part of the process and that there was no reason to erase them or attempt to cover them up if they happened to end up showing through when the painting was finished.

There is also the concept of the tinted line drawing... again perhaps another throw-back... yeah a throw-back to the coloring books of my youth. Hmmm, maybe.. maybe not. Regardless there are many ways that we can approach this challenge and there are no hard and fast rules.

The only one is that you must have lines that describe the figure and you need to have tints. I am not going to tell you what order they need to be laid down on the surface... and I am not going to tell you what to use to tint the drawing with.. I am not going to tell you to stay in the lines, and I am not going to tell you to put a background in... but you can if you want.

Make it color, make it black and white if you can... but make it fun, make it free, make it expressive. Be bold....

You can use heavy lines or light lines or both...

As far as the figure, if you can figure out a way to successfully use the concept of "no feet" (the only flaw in pose) go for it, other wise see if you can figure out what his feet are really doing here.

I don't want you to think too long about this one because it is all about immediacy lets have this one due on May 4th. If you need more time, take it, but lets knock this one out.

Now, LET's DRAW!!!

...royce
