Happy April 1st.
You might be expecting some sort of joke project given the whole April Fools day thing. The only joke is that it has taken me this long to get the next one together. I have it together and here it is.
If you look in the newly created FAB 024 folder you will see a pose created by Esme. This particular pose embodies the spirit of Edward Degas more than the rest of the poses in her collection. And for that reason I want you to think in a little bit different direction than usual.
(I will try not to go off on my typical convoluted word explanation.)
As you consider how you will execute this project think about the impressionists... in deciding what you use you can probably chose whatever you want, but I would suppose it had better be colorful. of course Degas used a lot of pastels... watercolours or oil washes would be a good option as well.
Above and beyond what you choose to do this one in, open yourself up and be free. Free your arm, let it get a little crazy and enjoy all the curves in this pose.
Loosen up with your arm and your color. Let's break alittle from our usual convention of color schemes. This is your chance to get a little scribbly. enjoy the experience of what happens as a layer of color is applied over the last.
Sounds fun huh? Well let's not let all that fun be used only in the figure. when you think about the background there is an awful lot to consider there as well. Compliment, contrast... what to do.. if the curvy shapes of the pose find their way in to the texture of the background.... so be it... maybe you want to invent a scene that this bather can be comfortable. whatever you do, think color, texture, pattern, movement... a beautiful pose deserves a suitable background.
I guess I am as curious as to what happen behind and around the figure here as inside of it.
Ever since these poses from Esme have been posted to our group I have wanted to incorporate them into one of our projects. Thank you Esme for you contribution.
This project will be due on April 18th
Now..... LET'S DRAW!!!
