Fabrication 018

The weekend is upon us, and if yours is anything like mine is going to be like here in Northern Michigan, you are not going to be wanting to go outside. In other words it will be a great weekend to stay inside and draw... particularly you might consider this one. Figure Fabrication 018 if you will.

Take this pose by David Qwertie and create a compostion that does a couple of things.

1) Push the contrast of the lights and darks. However you do it, i want to see the figure pop from the background.

2) Since we have already done a project where the figure touches 3 or 4 edges and since the photo is cropped that way already, there is no point in having you do that in and of itself, sooo, I want you to change the cropping from what you see in the photo. Crop more if you want or crop less. But it you do less, you are going to have to draw some things that are out of the frame of the photographic reference.

So, once more you will need to be inventive here. You will need to think out side of the box. Definately out side of what you see in the photo. If you are moved to include a prop or a bit of background of your choosing, be my guest. Just be sure that it compliments the figure and does not compete with it.

David is an intriging model with some interesting ideas for poses. Though he has quite long limbs this pose shows them pretty much folded up. If you have not gone and checked out David's folder of poses, you may want to stop by and look to see some other poses if you need some ideas as to how things are arranged when they are not so cropped or contorted. thanks David for this pose.

Sure there are a lot of things happening this month, but just for the fun of it lets make this one's deadline Oct 31st (2004).

Lets Draw!
