Fabrication 004

It has been a long time coming... but hopefully it will have been worth the wait.

The pose selected for 004 was choosen for two main reasons. One is that the lighting is pretty dramatic and for this assignment I think it will be helpful. The second is that it is a curious pose that has several wild sort of angles.

For this one we are going to be creating a tinted line drawing. What is meant by that in the context of this assignment is that the lines that you use to sketch or draw the figure will remain a part of the piece rather than being erased or blocked out by layers of opaque pigments.

There are still several ways to accomplish this. The easiest and most popular technique, at least historically is to use watercolor to tint the drawing.

This pose and photo have a sort of dreamy feel. So again the need to stick with the colors you see in the photo are not necessary.

My hope is that you will feel comfortable being very loose with your lines and your application of color.

I hope you have a good time with this one.

With summer activities and 4th of July celebrations coming up this one is not going to be due until July 13th (2003). Bbut if you get it done early, don't hesitate to post....it is good inspiration for all of us.

LET'S DRAW!!!
